Finding a conscious and responsible balance between caring for my health, caring for my patients, and most importantly, never putting my patients at risk is a delicate balance. Like many of my patients, I have a chronic disease. In my case, it’s neurological and not contagious, and 95% of the time is so well under control that I almost forget about it. For the past two weeks my symptoms have been more severe, requiring additional medical appointments, a reduced schedule, and unfortunately cancelling or rescheduling some of my shifts. I want to sincerely thank each and every one of my patients and colleagues for their understanding.

I’m grateful to work with excellent RMTs at both my Port Credit and Erin Mills clinics – they may have other openings while I get my health back to it’s normal state.

Before I became a massage therapist, I worked sick all the time. I took meds, herbal supplements…I’d have a seizure in a stairway or meeting room and then push through the work day. And I was sick a lot more often, and missed weeks of work.

I also felt the frustration when my doctor, naturopath, acupuncturist or therapist had to reschedule my appointments. It’s taken me some time to take this lesson to heart, but as a responsible health care provider, it is part of my job and responsibility to take care of my own health.

Again,

Thank you for your understanding

Jen
